Heaven

Assuming it exists, I wonder what it's like.

Is it all angels and harps and singing and rapture?

Or is there something more going on?

I always hope Heaven is the way it's described in the book WHAT DREAMS MAY COME. I know they made a movie out of it but if you can get the book, it's well worth the read. Anyway, in that book, you can hang around and be a ghost after dying, but most people pass on and Heaven is exactly what you make it to be. So for those who thought it was going to be singing and angels and rapture, it is. But the coolest thing I remember about it was the libraries and museums in Heaven, where all the art on the walls was exactly as the artist had envisioned it as opposed to what was created on earth. All the history books had the true story of what happened. And every novel was written just the way the author intended it to be.

What would your Heaven look like?

  1. I picture myself surrounded by beautiful things of nature. If I want to go swim with the whales, I can. If I want to slide down a waterfall and lay around at a beach, I can. I can fly to other worlds and see the whole universe. I can see my family, cook dinners for them in my lovely house, a house that I have always longed for. I am swinging in a swing in my yard. I am dancing to beautiful music and I am also singing and dancing with the angels in front of God on his throne. Jesus comes by to visit and we dance and sing together rejoicing in life. That is my image of heaven. How can you tell I love singing and dancing?

  2. I haven't read the book but oddly that is my concept of the afterlife as well.

    Imhotep said it best.
    "Death is only the beginning."

      I hope that's true.

  3. Mine would be a giant open air library, with every book ever written, in a magnificent forest with rivers and streams and waterfalls and twittering birds; fruit hanging from branches and soft turf underfoot. I could just wander and read and sit and read ..and read and read... and read and read.

  4. I've never heard of the book "What Dreams May Come," but now I'm going to buy it. Thanks so much for telling us about it.

  5. My heaven would be filled with young men that wanted me more than anyone else :) (oh and I'm gay if you didn't know from networking with me). Great question!
